fun and unusual
By a customer , 28 May 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Enjoyably far-fetched with fun characters and a big dollop of emotions. Excellent camera angles and editing. A fun take on a difficult historical period. Rishi kapoor is brilliant and cricket cameos are great!- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)ok movie - have a look
By a customer , 31 Aug 2012I did not like this movie that much but it is worth a watch. Some subjects are true about what our grandparents went through in the 60s and 70s in the UK- Was this review helpful to you?

could have been much better
By a customer , 14 Sep 2011A potentially interesting storyline for Bollywood, exploring cultural identity for British Asians is unfortunately let down by woeful direction. Akskay Kumar gives a commendably restrained performance for a change and Rishi Kapoor is on good form as the domineering patriach. However, Anushka Sharma's performance leaves much to be desired. The film lacks pace, and veers off towards hopelessly unfunny farcical scenes involving wedding preparations and 'elaborate' deceptive devices being put in place to avoid the patriach catching a glimpse of his son Akshay playing cricket for the England team. Could have been a much better film in the hands of a more competent director.- Was this review helpful to you?

Boring and dull!
By AhadMiah (12 reviews) from London , 31 Aug 2011very rarely watch Bollywood movies now, due loads of craps one about. Heard this one was a hit and has Akshay in it. However, the movie was a big let down. The whole film was shot in London!
So it could have been made by C4 or the BBC. The worst of all, it was so boring and dull, that I stopped half-way and couldn't watch any further.- Was this review helpful to you?
