pearl jam
from liking pearl jam since their beginning in the early 1990's i was looking forward to this dvd & wasnt let down,well worth the viewing.

not as good as i wanted it to be
first up, I love love love pearl jam so bought this when it came out. on hearing it was a documentary about the making of 'yield' , i thought it was going to be like the chilis' funky monks' dvd.
however, as pearl jam have grown older, they have become quite boring as people.........while the music is untouchable, you can't help but feel they have become the anoraks of rock.....not just because they wear them!
vedder is clearly the one with most personality, but can be too smug at times.
what struck me about this dvd is the sound quality........it has a massive richness to it that most other music dvds dont and while a lot of the playing is loud, it's mixed perfectly to feel like you're in the room thrashing out the ideas with them.
this is not the most addictive dvd pearl jam have released, but it's worth a watch. -
