In this surreal pastiche of television-age nostalgia, sprung from the perpetually prepubescent mind of Paul Reubens, Pee-Wee and his friends celebrate Christmas in all kinds of unique, fun, and creative ways in a holiday special unlike any other. The wacky and outrageous Pee-Wee (Paul Reubens) has made a list for Santa; unfortunately it's so long that if he gets everything he wants, there won't be anything left over for the other children on Santa's route! Pee-Wee learns the true meaning of the Christmas spirit when he learns to share, and along the way he is visited by a bevy of celebrity stars, including Whoopi Goldberg, Frankie Avalon, Joan Rivers, Charo, Grace Jones, Annette Funicello, Magic Johnson, K.D. this was a poor film might be fine for children.
Laurence Fishburne has been ruled out of old pal Paul Reubens' upcoming Pee-Wee's Playhouse comeback - because he's too busy playing a TV forensics expert. The Matrix star landed his big break playing singing cowboy Curtis on Reubens' wacky 1980s TV show, but he won't be reprising the role onstage, when the funnyman revamps his most famous character, Pee-Wee Herman.
