    [Highly rated reviewer]

Peep show returns for it's fourth series, with Mark's impending wedding dominating the story.

As usual there are plenty of bizarre subplots, whose outcomes are sometimes disgusting and always hilarious. The characters of both Mark and Jeremy are so well defined that you know exactly what they are thinking which draws you into their strange lives and really sympathize with them when it all goes wrong. Well, most of the time.

The show continues it's dark strain of comedy (never before have I laughed at a man eating a barbecued dog) while masquerading behind normal every day life. The climax of the series is excellent, but not exactly what you were expecting - the real reason peep show is so brilliant, it's never what you expect.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHide

Its another great series from the lads and it could have possibly, (as a series) ended at this point, but remarkably it didn't!

There's the usual sticky situations that both Mark and Jeremy find themselves in, (all leading up to Mark's impending marriage to Sophie).

Mark struggles to give a presentation to the JLB board, Jeremy, 'works,' with the, 'Orgazoid,' Mark goes to a school reunion, they go on their stag do down the canals and Mark struggles at the gym! Nancy also returns in the series.

... and that's good news, because this is as brilliant as the first three series. Mark's descent into hell (i.e. the approach of his wedding day) is the main theme, and along the way there are barbecued dogs, hand jobs and assorted other nastinesses. Cynical, dark, very funny, beautifully observed.

I've tried really hard. I like most of M & W's output. But this just IS NOT FUNNY. This is where I bail out. Bye.
