The first couple of episodes are a bit slow, but episode three is awesome with great dialogues and acting (forgotten how good Bob Hoskins was), and could stand alone. Things get going after that. The story is ambiguous at times, which can be intriguing, but also irritating. Also the old low-budget BBC sets have seriously dated. There are the usual Potter obsessions; old-fashioned pop music, suicide in the Thames, prostitution, voyeurism, hay-lofts, the Forest of Dean, schooldays etc. Patchy, but when its good, I really enjoyed it.
