I love this film, with it's dark but not humourless look at the Americas. A frenetic roadtrip where the cultures of North and South America clash. The film has elements of action, horror, romance and comedy in a perfect stylistic and sexy balance. Although mindlessly violent at times, there is an inteligence to the movie, as a reflection of class and culture in America. Javier Bardem's character is wonderfully flawed; I can't think of a more powerful and sexual character in movies, than that played by Rosie Perez.
