This film really is sick (an' i dont mean in a youff of today way)
The 'antiheroes' of the film transporting human baby foetuses to be used to make womens cosmetics products and its treated like normal ? - god knows how they do make those skin creams though eh ?
When a police officer picks up a dead baby from the road it is most offensive
Then theres the cartoon manga scene with alien tentacles forcing there way into a girl knickers.
Then theres the double rape of 2 teenagers before their attempted human sacrifice - a boy forced by the old mexican woman and a girl by the mexican man. The boy of course ends up enjoying it - just as you the public believe he would and the girl enjoys it but can't forgive being taken against her will and so hates her rapist but still has a fascination with him.
Finally and the worst in my opinion there is one scene of a poor 10 yr old girl crying and an old gangster doing up his dressing gown telling her not to bite next time, and its done in an almost jokey way.
To me it seemed like the director thought the film was meant to be funny although how anyone could think this i dont know ?
The sex and abuse/violence combined is clearly designed to titilate both men and women - as the mexican woman has the young lad tied up and has power over him.
I only watched it right to the end to make sure the 'antiheroes' got what they deserved although i had my doubts they would !- the mexican woman goes free probably because she tried to free the teenagers (as after she had sex with the lad she felt sorry for him) so there is some kind of rough justice there.
I'm tired of people saying its cartoon violence like it doesnt matter - it still matters its how they brainwash us into thinking violence is okay by feeding us tom and jerry as kids.
This film is also based on a true story of an american voodoo drug dealer (see borderland and the true life Matamoros cult killings) who shot himself in the end I'm sure the parents of the lad who was human sacrificed didnt appreciate it.
I dont think films like this should made let alone be passed for viewing - just another instance where the BBFC is letting anything through - im sure really they would like us all to pay for gladiator battles to the death and human sacrifice - like the roman days - the mob hasnt changed much.
