There is very little Pete and Dud material surviving thanks to the shameful pracise of the BBC erasing tapes in the 60s.
This is a disc full of, if not classic comedy, then at least stuff that has stood the test of time.
Some of the sketches do go on a little long.
After Pete and Dud every decent bit of comedy (stand-up, sketches or situation) seems derivative. they were the masters. While there are moments of their best, most brilliant (not to say funny) comedy on this DVD, there's also some dross. Why do we need to have a joke explained by someone else just after Pete and Dud have executed it?
The extras aren't worth the space. I'd have selected other bits of 'Goodbye Again' as 'best of' - there are some 'not quite best of' bits here... or maybe I just mean they could've been edited done a little. But certainly good to see them do what they did so well. Now I want more!
