One Hell Of a Show

The litmus test of a good concert is whether it can stir your emotions. The test of a good concert DVD is whether it can repeat that feat for someone who was there.
When I saw this show in Sheffield, Secret World moved me to tears. When I watched this DVD (filmed in Modena, Italy) it did it again.
The staging is superb, the musicianship is astounding and the set-list almost perfect (no Games Without Frontiers, BOO!)
The 5.1 mixes are also superb, with the quality of the DTS track astounding. The only gripe is that the picture is a tad grainy, but that is forgivable for a show as darkly lit as this.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not 'That' Improved...
By Baz (104 reviews) from London , 17 Sep 2012Even as a lifelong Gabriel fan - I have to say two things about this reissue. The picture quality is only OK at best - the DVD was barely watchable - but the supposed remastered BLU RAY is little better - covered in haze in every single shot.
The sound is great - but there's also the matter of how dated this concert is. I loved it at the time (was moved too) but it's a hard watch now. I've seen this stuff and heard these tracks too many times now. I just wish the guy would stop regurgitating the past and produce some new material.
I'd say rent this before you buy on nostalgia - the music may still turn you on - but the supposed upgrade isn't really worth it...- Was this review helpful to you?

Great concert!

Stunning Concert!!!
By MS from Edinburgh , 10 Mar 2005I was fortunate enough to attend a concert during Peter Gabriels Secret World Tour and to this day I'm still mesmerized by the talent of the man.
This disc contains a stunning concert and an excellent DTS soundtrack. Although the picture quality is distinctly average.(It's both grainy & Pixely).
