Peter Kay's Pop Factor
By Dan5773 (14 reviews) from Keighley , 29 Sep 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful. Peter Kay, who used to be absolutely hilarious, continues his slide into obscurity with this lame effort.
Where his witty observations on past times used to have us laughing in a Homer Simpson 'It's funny because it's true' style, I watched this simply thinking 'Well, yes, but you're stating the bl**dy obvious there!'
As with his last DVD release of editing room floor cuttings, this is just a lazy effort.
The only slightly surprising thing is that he didn't hang on until the Christmas market was in full swing, so he could rely on an army of Granny's saying 'Ooh, little Johnny likes that Peter Kay, I'll get him that.'
Then again, we'll probably see a 2-disk 'special edition' come Christmas, with 'Exclusive disk extras: a stocking full of featurettes casting a witty eye back on the things we used to buy' (i.e. he's stuck the adverts back in).- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Peter's Pop Tastic...
By Tjdjer (7 reviews) from Birmingham , 17 Aug 2010When it comes to Peter Kay he really does observation well and with Peter Kay's Britain's Got The Pop Factor, it proves how badly the reality format really is.
The main execution of the show is delivered brilliantly with jokes for everyone and guaranteed laughs.
The show was a bit slow to start and as expected very over the top but it really does show the sham of the X Factor and all other shows alike for what they really are.
As both an actor and a comdian, Kay goes in overtime to deliver a witty if somewhat drawn out and at times reptitive show that will have all ages giggling.
I can't say this is his best work but it's far from some of the other tat that's knocking around these days, fans of Kay and those sick of relaity singathons will be chuckling away for ages, those with no sense of humour need not bother!- Was this review helpful to you?
