A Classic
By Psharpe from Surrey , 09 Feb 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Peter Pan was the first film I ever saw at the cinema, so it was a historic moment for our family when I settled down to watch the DVD with my daughter. She wasn't disappointed and nor was I. Glorious technicolour bathes the timeless characters as the adventurous Peter rescues rescues various hapless females from 'Red Indians' and 'Pirates'. I'm not sure which was more grating, Peter's American drawl or Wendy's plummy cries of warning 'watch out Peter!' But younger viewers won't mind that. They'll be captivated by the menace of the crocodile and the promise of dreams and fairy dust.- Was this review helpful to you?

(66)Old Fashioned Classic
By LKG (1 review) , 30 Apr 2013Personally, I thought it had some old fashioned and outdated values, particularly about how Nana is treated by Mr Darling, poor thing. Also, I can't understand why children, especially girls, love Tinkerbell so much, she's not very nice in this story. On the whole, though, a great classic that children still love. My daughter was hooked on this movie and didn't want me to return it. Perhaps we'll have to buy a copy.- Was this review helpful to you?

Flies pretty high
By RJNeb2 (922 reviews) from London , 29 Jun 2010Maybe not top rank Disney, but this animated take on the J.M. Barrie classic has its charms. A labour of love for Disney himself, the material has been thoroughly Americanized, but some of the characterisation is delightful (namely Hook and his crocodile nemesis and especially the feisty little Tinker Bell) and it looks as magical as the story it tells.- Was this review helpful to you?
