Once again we have a French film with an inconclusive ending.

Did she?? or did she?? We are left to make up our own minds!

Terrific performance by Bernadette LaFonte and I'm going to look for more of her films.

Sometimes it made us laugh, others it made us cry and at others we were puzzled about what was happening and why.

It didn't help that the subtitles were lost at the bottom of the screen. However, I changed my TV screen from 'wide' to '4.3' and then the subtitles were readable but we didn't get the full beauty of the scenery in wide screen.

Unlike some people, we have no trouble with reading subtitles and would rather have the joy of watching foreign films with sub titles rather than missing out on seeing wee gems that are not available either in the cinema or in our local DVD shop.

About the reviewer: crispin40

I'm a retired high school librarian. Living with my partner who is also female for over 39 years. She has teminal bone cancer and when we were given a prognosis of 6 months for her to live in 2005, we made great use of our LoveFilm (or ScreenSelect) subscription. Watching films and reading books kept us sane! We're happy to say that she's still with us, (November 2007), still driving and still enjoying life. We do enjoy the odd, quirky film - often foreign but they must be well made, scripted, directed etc.
