Brilliant Musical Spectacular from an outstanding producer/singer/songwriter
Phil collins currently Number 64 in the Official UK Top 500 Artists of all time. A continually popular singer / songwriter (born 31 Jan 1951, London) who simuultaneously fronted Genesis (until 1996) and managed a successful solo career. Only members of Thw Beatles have appeared on more UK No.1 Albums.
This is an outstanding Double 2 Disk DVD set bringing the very best of Phil Collins in his Serious Hits Live Tour in Berlin. The DVD is packed with extra features. My favourite was the Camera Views that are switchable at your choice. This enables you to view the stage and singers/band from any one of the 14 cameras placed on the stage and around the stadium. The DVD also features Photos from the concert, A programme guide and an exclusive storyline into how the stage was built and designed. As Phil and the band have a a stage that features doors on it which display the image of a carousel. These open up to reveal the band inside. It shows the perfect technology, engineering, and design of the whole perfomance.
A MUST FOR ANYONE WHO APPRECIATES GOOD MUSIC. -

Serious hits - serious quality!
Phil Collins & his (vast) band tear through 3 hours of live hits in Germany, originally released in 1990 on video. The musicianship is faultless as I'd have expected, but it's the sheer quality and extra enjoyment you get from a set (2 discs) such as this that makes you wish ALL titles were done like this. Exactly as the 'Genesis - The Way We Walk' DVD, you can select from a choice of 3 mixes / which camera angle to watch (virtually) all the concert from (well, the Genesis actually has four!). The only gripe anyone could have is that it's not been formatted for widescreen or to include a DTS soundtrack - but it does have good ol' 5.1 surround. There are quite a few extras added too including an 'interview', tour programme & gallery. I'm off to buy this one........

A decent dvd from one of the best artists we have ever had. Enjoy this, performers like this are few and far between.

What can I say?
Phil collins is one of the best singer/song writers there is, and also a great performer. I don`t think there is a note out of place fantastic concert, the only improvement could if I was actually there.

Great Concert
Just had this DVD on rental and its very very good. Disc 2 has a nice run of up-tempo numbers one after the other which makes it a winner for me. Rent this DVD you wont regret it

One of the best
This has to be one of the best Music DVDs I've seen. It is well presented with multi-camera angles, full 5.1 audio (not just stating 5.1 and only really using 2.1 channels). Collins drumming and vocals are a must for anybody not just being a fan but being introduced to him. I would highly recommend this DVD to anybody whether a fan of Phil Collins or not.

Great entertainment!
This is a cracking DVD. Phil Collins Live...excellent! I got the most out of this DVD by watching it on a 43' screen and sound hooked up to a 5.1 AV amp and 400 watt speakers. Music DVDs don't come much better than this. If you're a Phil Collins fan or even if you just like live gigs, you have to get this one!

Superb!
You know, everyone slags off Phil Collins, which is a shame, he's done nothing wrong. All he's guilty of is becoming too famous during his initial solo period. Had he remained the singer/drummer for Genesis he would not have been so lambasted in the press.
So he wrote a few exceptionally cheesy songs, so he did a few very dubious cover versions, so he seemed to be in every paper you read and every talk show you saw, so what!
At the end of the day he writes some excellent songs, his albums sell millions and his tours sell out, what more can a musician do? He's not the first, nor will he be the last to attempt to cross over into TV/Movies.
This DVD shows what a catalogue of great songs he has, and as a performer he is second to none. Often overlooked by people, apart from Genesis fans, is the fact he is one of the world's top drummers.
I had this on video and I am glad it is now available on DVD, I'm off out to buy this ASAP. A great show, and a hell of a long one too! Try this, put aside your musical misconceptions and just sit back and enjoy the show that will be coming to you from all sides 'In The Air Tonight'....ouch!!! -
