Tame but enjoyable Asian horror
By Sheangel (2 reviews) from Nottingham , 11 Jun 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
This is made up of four short stories each around 20 minutes but they arent married together a la Cats Eye or Tales from the Darkside. It isnt polished enough to really be put into the same ballpark as those two though.
If you are a fan of Asian horror and can cope with some awful CGI, unrealistic blood and gore (although fairly minimal) but expect a little more substance then this is for you.
Each short works well in its own right. The first, 'Happiness', is surprisingly effective despite having no spoken dialogue. The second, 'Tit for Tat', has a violent element with a larger amount of gore than the others but is very predictable. The third 'In the Middle' is very watchable with likeable characters and keeps you guessing. The fourth, 'The Last Flight', is again a tad predictable but does still gradually build up a feeling of dread and doesn't disappoint.
It is no comparison to 13 - Game of Death, Old Boy and the Tale of Two Sisters. If this movie was made in the USA is would have scored much lower but as it has some of the hallmarks of low budget Asian horrors that we have come to love it's definitely worth a watch for horror fans. It won't have you quaking in your boots though hence the average rating.- Was this review helpful to you?

(10)4 stories - not all good
By a customer from North Wales , 21 Jul 2011Definitely worth watching for the last two stories, but the first two are very tame. Good double-bluff in the last story.- Was this review helpful to you?

By juradino (811 reviews) from London , 02 May 2011Grow up in condo, bullied in school, die on canoe trip and land with death. Sounds somewhat familiar to me. Classic horror.- Was this review helpful to you?

I really like foreign horror
By Gothicat (3 reviews) from Bromley , 09 Jan 2011and this is no exception.
I like short films in one film, what would have made it better is if they had linked them.
But the plots are pretty cool- Was this review helpful to you?
