Excellent performances by Burt Reynolds as a cop accused of murder and Teresa Russell as the defending lawyer who doubts his innocence, lift this average thriller above par.Could have had stronger direction and a tighter plot but the two talented stars make it worthwhile.Good support comes from stalwart Ned Beatty and the underrated Kay Lenz.
