Piglet's Big Movie

Winnie the Pooh and his loveable gang of friends are back in this Disney follow up to 2000's THE TIGGER MOVIE. This time around Pooh's smallest pal is given the star treatment in this sweet and touching adaptation of A. A.Milne's original short stories. Set to a lyrical and lighthearted soundtrack by Carly Simon, the adventure begins in the Hundred-Acre-Wood as the gang gets ready for the Honey Harvest. Much to his chagrin, Piglet (Voice of John Fiedler) is left out of the festivities because he is declared too small to help, so the unsung hero abandons his pals to wander the wood and think about his place, however small, in the world. Eventually Winnie (Voice of Jim Cummings), Tigger (also Cummings), Rabbit (Voice of Ken Sansom), Eeyore (Peter Cullen), Owl (Voice of Andre Stojka), and Christopher Robin (Voice of Tom Wheatley) realise that their friend is missing and set out to find him with the help of Piglet's "Book of Memories," a scrapbook of their adventures. As the gang searches for Piglet they relive their many adventures, told in flashbacks, and realise what an important part he has played in each of their lives. This sweet-tempered, feel-good adventure is full of empowering messages of self worth for children of all ages; Piglet proves that sometimes heroes can come in the tiniest of packages.

A juvenile audience will be enchanted by this animated tribute to the diminutive sidekick from Winnie the Pooh — and some adults could find enough here to go along with them. Tiny Piglet (voiced by John Fiedler) is feeling very low because he's far too near the ground — it's an unease most children can sympathise with — so he sets off into the woods, wondering how he can gain height to be able to help his friends. Meanwhile, the other familiar characters look into his diary to see if it can give any clues as to his whereabouts. Director Francis Glebas and writer Brian Hohlfeld have created a well-crafted fable, while Carly Simon's songs boost the film's charm and its moments of poignancy.

    hundred acre tastic!!

We really enjoyed this movie, being a big fan of all the friends in hundred acre wood (especially eeyore) it was a great film, bringing back lots of memories of the fun times all the friends share. It's also a good film to show the children with a good moral at the end, we all need friends no matter how small.

Piglet's Big Movie gets "thumbs/trotters up"

My daughter who is just turned 4 absolutely loved this film; as soon as it finished she pressed the play button again (which I didn't even know she knew) and has been singing the tunes ever since. She actually said that the film was "fantastic"!

The film as the title suggests concentrates on Piglet's importance to Winnie the Poo and gang and the underlying theme of his loyalty, bravery and cheery friendship towards the others is refreshing. It carries a lovely message to children which is rarely found these days.

A pleasure to watch for the adults too.
