Must see tearjerker
The movie is based on novel by Amrita Pritam. Screenplay is excellent and so are performances especiallly of Manoj Bajpai. Urmilla has put in an effort. The supporting cast does its job well. It is tear-jerker made in the background of partition and preindependence days of India. Has good music. It is one of the good ones coming out of bollywood.

Absolutely fantastic!
These are the kind of movies that need to be made and seen.With a poignant storyline,some excellent acting by Urmila,good script and dialogue and no Bollywood glamour/cabarat dances or usual fights!Saw it twice before returning it.Songs and tunes are also wonderful.Hope they make more of the same-simple stories worth watching!
