Must see tearjerker

The movie is based on novel by Amrita Pritam. Screenplay is excellent and so are performances especiallly of Manoj Bajpai. Urmilla has put in an effort. The supporting cast does its job well. It is tear-jerker made in the background of partition and preindependence days of India. Has good music. It is one of the good ones coming out of bollywood.- Was this review helpful to you?

It has everything pain, agony, helplessness, betrayal, hope, patriarchy, love, hate, religion i can go on.. A very emotional film. The battle of love, loyalty, family, honor and a lesson in history.
By KennyD90 (2 reviews) , 18 Jun 2012Having watched numerous Bollywood films with the Partition being one of the subjects of a film, this film stayed with me for a couple of weeks, the story is truly believable, and the tragedy is soul wrenching and this film is truly a real credit to the actors and producers, director and the script writers. The emotion conveyed through this film was raw and real, the pain the main character goes through was delivered so clearly that it tugged my heart and conscience and I cried. This film is a must watch, it shows the emotion, the pain, the real tragedy and dark side of us humans and shows the animal that lives in us all. Please watch it, I promise you will be thoroughly thrilled and touched.- Was this review helpful to you?
