A superbly crafted journey through the creative processes which shaped the greatest album of the twentieth century.
Band members Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright articulate the story which flows as elegantly as the 30 year old recording itself.
They describe the thoughts, ideas, fears, inspiration and hard work which blended together into an emotional nugget which has touched the life of millions.
Wordsmith Waters is on top form as he reveals some of his thoughts on life, "walk towards the light", he urges as a final comment.
This documentary gives us what the album did for its millions of devotees. It is captivating, thought- provoking, funny and utterly entertaining. Like the record you will want to experience this again and again.
Lets assume firstly that you're a floyd fan as you've rented this/considering renting it, in which case my review is directed to a fan....THIS IS AMAZING! It contains some unseen footage from the early 70's of the band making DSOTM as well as current interviews with all band members (Rog included). The one bad thing is the reminder of what age does to us all...alas the band look like old men now. Old men that still have incredible musical talent though. Rent his and enjoy over a doobey or two ;)
