I'm Hooked Captain.. this is another 'Pirates' to treasure..By PaulaWestwood (397 reviews) from Ashton-Under-Lyne , 25 May 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]Though this is a long voyage (at 168 minutes !) in many ways 'Worlds End' is even more immense and pleasurable than 1 and 2, the humour and story plot (ably aided by our home talent of McKenzie Crook, Kevin Mcnally, Keira Knightly.. etc etc) is superb.
Without spoiling anything, the lords of the Pirates from the four corners of the globe must put their internal squabbles and infighting on the back burner (not apparently an easy task !) to collect together to fight off the dominance of the East India Trading companies grip on the high seas, and their popular (ha !) member Jack Sparrow must (to their dismay) be rescued from the grip of the Kraken to aid them in their endeavour.
For our family this isn't just a film... it's an event... and we were thoroughly and absolutely absorbed by this. It is fantastic, entirely what cinema is about and shouldn't be missed by anyone young or old.
A most definate recommendation !!

Keep it simple stupidBy Rach225 (6 reviews) from Lockerbie , 27 Mar 2010I really don't know what happened to the Pirates of the Caribbean films. The first was a fun adventure film that wasn't too challenging and could be enjoyed by kids. But then it started to go wrong. It became way too complicated and the third is the biggest offender of this. I have seen the film twice and still I struggle to get a grasp at what the story was about. Johnny Depp is the only thing that makes the film worth watching to the end. Many people don't like Kiera Knightly but I am not one of those people, however I hated her in this film. She is completley wrong for the part as she cannot do action films, she really needs to stick to period films because that is where she really excells. If they are going to continue the films they really need to keep the plot simple, try not to be so clever and remember who their audience are.
Family fun!!!By RAMZ (11 reviews) from Bristol , 24 Mar 2010A great film to watch with the whole family, I watched this on an occassion and the whole family were stuck watching the whole movie from start to finnish. Another good Pirates of the Carribean film.
Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End What a shame.By HoveringBob (13 reviews) from St. Albans , 19 Mar 2010This is a crying shame. A suberb cast strive to make something of this plotless disappointment. Over played special effects from start to finish do not make up for a lack of a gripping story. 'The Black Pearl' started in reality and joyfully progressed seamlessly into fantasy but 'World's End' starts with full blown special effects and then fails to develop them through the rest of the film. At least an hour too long. If shortened, the producers might have enough left in the buget to pay for a worthwhile story. A missed opportunity, what a shame.
pirates of the carribbean-at worlds endBy sammi29 (13 reviews) from Gateshead , 07 Feb 2010this film was just fab! loved every minute of it. johnny depp is just fantastic as usual and orlando bloom is just hot n this. was a bit of a shame how orlando and keiras characters were separated at the end but with the fourth film out this year hopefully that could change. cant wait for next film!
