    Fabulous performance from Ruggero Raimondi

    It always something special to see lesser known operas from little known composers. This was notable for a great performance from Ruggero Raimondi as Thomas Becket. The other plus point of this performance is that the action actually takes place in a Cathedral. In addition there is action on film to supplement that in the cathedral. The result is a really dramatic telling of the killing of Becket on the king's orders, with equally dramatic music. I recommend it to all opera lovers.
