It's distressing to see Dennis Christopher (Breaking Away) wasted in a witless sequel that makes his character look even more foolish and aimless than he was in the original. But the prize for redundancy goes to Andy Goldberg and Paul Willson, whose subplot is seemingly tacked on for no real purpose. The film feels like a collection of out-takes from the first Circuitry Man, even recycling some of its effects. The incomprehensible plot has something to do with Plughead (Vernon Wells) again setting his sights on capturing Danner (Jim Metzler).
If you can watch Sci Fi and take it at face value as a bit of fun, then this film is for you.
The twist in the tail would be no suprise to many Sci Fans but the film is imaginative and very watchable. - Give it a try.
