Ok so finally a British film to be proud of that doesn't revolve arround Colin Firth...

A true anachronistic treasure with a decent cast, a witty script and an amazing soundtrack...

If you've missed this movie then get it before someone 'loses' the disk in the post...

Every time I seem to ask people, have they watched Plunkett and Macleane, they never seem to have heard of it, which I always find surprising, as it’s so damn good! It’s – very loosely – based on the true exploits of British highwaymen, one of which was a ‘gentleman,’ but still went on to rob the rich to fund his lavish lifestyle. And it reunites Trainspotting stars Johnny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle in the title roles, plus adds Liv Tyler as a bit of ‘love interest.’ It’s one of those rare films which mixes action, adventure and adult humour extremely well and pulls everything off. There’s very little not to like about the film. However, every time I read something negative about it, it’s someone always slagging off the music. Yes, the film uses highly modern dance music for a film set hundreds of years ago. Some people seem to find that very difficult to take. Personally, I thought it worked a treat. Whether you like action or black humour, you have to watch this film. Also, a special mention to actor Ken Stott for his sinister portrayal as the thoroughly nasty captain of the police, charged with bringing the highwaymen to justice.

  • FAB FAB FAB!!!

I Absolutely loved this film. It was a modern twist on an age old tale of Highwaymen in the 1700's - modern touches like some of the more elaborate costumes, music choice and some 'urban terminology' made it perfect.

It's all star casting was perfect with early performances from the likes of David Walliams and Matt Lucas, Ben Miller and Alexander Armstrong. But the stars of piece were the gorgeous Jonny Lee Miller who was fab. He was slightly upstaged by the wonderful Robert Carlyle. Ken Stott plays a sinister a nasty character with grit and realism. Liv Tyler is just beautiful.

I enjoy a good period flick and this was excellent.

... I said, 'rubbish.' Couldn't bare it; and have to admit we abandoned it after only a few minutes and did not see it through. I never heard/saw such inappropriate material! Avoid at all costs unless you like low down stuff.

I loved this, I've watched it a lot of times since it was released (twice in the cinema). All round fantastic fim, very entertaining, full of action and humour and a great soundtrack!
