We all know how our Belgian favourite dandy solves the mysteries like unravelling a silk scarf. We have the pleasure to love him.

We all know how good is Mr Suchet in portraying the smart man accent, his fine manners and his good old moustaches.

What we don't know is that even in the most wonderful of the necklaces there is always the best jewel, would it be the brighter emerald or the deepest ruby.

So it's an impeccable acting, lead by a choir of lovely ladies, and a wonderful music that makes this one of that kind of stones.

The brightest maybe? It could be. Although I'm sure there are better as there are worst ones and I don't like saying the final word on anything.

Most certainly one the most interesting and the most well conceived and finely directed by a hand that, I would say, indeed loves as we do an old English school with nice wooden libraries and pretty flowers.

And, like we do, he can't avoid the pleasure of setting a mystery right there, around the angelica's bushes.

A cauldron of secret agents, revolution, missing princesses and murder mixed together to create a brew full of mystery. This episode has everything! you are reminded of the good old jolly hockey stick era all is so dependable and secure but in this suprising setting javelins fly and no one is safe so it seems. Very well directed, excellent casting and acting as always, I didn't think Poirot played such a massive part in this one and I like to see a bit of his excentricity which was lacking. There isn't any humour to add a bit of light relief either which is a shame but still a great episode.

wasnt up to usual standards. poirot let 2 women get murdered under his watch and spent quite a long time monologuing. he also smoked unnecessarily. seemed quite rude at times and not his usual interesting self. lots of stars to spot but not to be recommended on its own merits.

  • One of the best episodes of the series

Who could imagine that in a girls' school there will be murders, espionage, secrets and lies and indeed a visit from a famous detective?

Captivating from scene one, Cat Among The Pigeons is a story full of mystery, suspense and the trademark Christie twists.

Get ready for gorgeous sets, David Suchet at his best, great acting from the cast and a storyline that keeps you at the edge of your seat.

Clever story, beautiful scenery and great acting.

    Highly recommended to watch!
