Rangers, go!
By Spookidoodles (7 reviews) , 27 Jul 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
The person below obviouly mistook this game for a follow on to the popular Pokémon RPG games - this title as he stated is completely different, and there are actually a couple of Games in the Pokémon ranger series. You play as a Ranger (these characters have been depicted in various TV episodes and a movie I believe) so you don't 'catch' any Pokémon, you merely use wild ones to help you. The game is really good, but if you are expecting one of the classic RPG style games you are going to be very dissapointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Capture on!
By BobbieLou (1 review) , 17 Apr 2013Okay, I wasn't too hyped up about the game but it was a lot better than what I gave it credit for. I'll give a brief detailing on what I liked and disliked about the title: The Good: - a new style of playing Pokemon with a lot more Pokemon available to 'catch' (though in reality, you kind of borrow them for a short period of time) than the first. - great graphics for a Pokemon/DS game. - a whole lot of fun for any age (I'm in my early 20's and still enjoyed it). The Bad: - the story tended to dribble on and on at times, becoming quite vexing. There was also a lot of dialogue so if you're impatient, you may find yourself button mashing to get it over with, then miss vital parts of the story. - a lot of side quests but only able to do one at a time! Surely a Ranger can multitask? Other than that, it was a fun game but I believe younger players may lose interest due to the vast amount of reading and concentration needed. Not a fact, just an opinion. Happy playing to all!- Was this review helpful to you?

I wanted this game to be better then it is
By a customer from Hertfordshire, England , 21 Apr 2010I was quite excited to play this game as I have always liked Pokemon Diamond/Gold/silver etc, but unfortunately it was a bit disappointing.
You capture pokemon by drawing circles round them and dealing damage to them this way, then as you level up you circle does more damage. It's quite a good idea and you can use your caught pokemon to use skills to help, but the problem is that all electric pokemon seemed to do the same, as did water and grass etc which made it a bit dull.
When you capture a pokemon it follows you round which is cool and the graphics in general are excellent but you can only have so many follow you at a time (Although this increases) which gets a bit infuriating and you seem to spend a lot of time running around asking civilians if they are okay etc rather then doing anything.
Having said that parts of the game are quite good and if you are a true poke-fanatic I am sure you will love this game, but for the casual poke-fan they might get a bit bored.- Was this review helpful to you?
