It's easy to see why Elizabeth Taylor was attracted to this rather paltry TV movie: if the leading role wasn't written for her, it was certainly (forgive the pun) tailored to her bawdy talents by distinguished veteran western writer James Lee Barrett. Indeed, cynics might think that Barrett just rewrote his Cheyenne Social Club, with a woman instead of the likeable duo of James Stewart and Henry Fonda inheriting a brothel. Taylor is never less than watchable, and she's super in a fight with the younger Susan Tyrrell. Yet the film overall is so poorly shot and directed that there's little of real interest, save watching the obvious on- (and, allegedly, off-) screen chemistry between Taylor and her tanned co-star George Hamilton: what a team of brothel keepers they make.
