The trials and tribulations of an LA pool-cleaner form the basis of this comedy drama, directed by Robert Downey and starring his more infamous son. Alyssa Milano (Melrose Place, Charmed) is Hugo, whose thriving business forces her to draft in mum Cathy Moriarty and dad Malcolm McDowell, plagued (respectively) with alcohol and gambling problems. This inadequate pair accompany Hugo on her rounds as she meets the usual assortment of weird customers, including Downey Jr's movie director and Sean Penn's drifter, and falls in love with Patrick Dempsey. More wacky than humorous, this is a disappointing story of talented actors in search of a script.
I could not watch more than ten minutes. All the so called established actors were hamming it up. Expected so much and was desperately disappointed. Definately a miss. Nil point.
I fell asleep after a hour and a bit of watching this as the film is hardly rememberable. I confess my reason for hiring this was to see Alyssa Milano who appears a little younger but still looks as gorgeous as ever...I could watch her all day...........
