    Surprisingly good

To be honest I only really rented this as it involved pool which i've grown fond of in recent months and nothing else.

What followed was a Surprisingly strong movie following the underground pool hustling circuit and the trouble it brings.

    It's your shot. Take it

The cast includes Christopher Walken, as always good, Rod Steiger in his last role, and a group of youngmen, who are very amusing. This is pure entertainment. As Ebert says, 'a young man's film humming with fun of making it.

    Good, very entertaining

unfortunatly Walken wasnt in it as much as you might have hoped and shockingly he and Callahan weren't related in the film despite Callahan playing the whole film like he was Walkens stunt double with decent impersonation also...

overall very good, reall all down to having a good cast in most areas....recomended

    Not a bad shot1!

Entertaining but not brilliant. This is the type of film you might watch to accompany a big release. The main theme here is cool. Its not a gangster flick, its not quite a buddy flick and its not dark enough to be a solo affair. Its redeeming quality is how the pool shots are stitched so seemlessly into the story. This is a film about pool and about how cool pool is. Thats all folks!

    Very enjoyable

I rented this purely on the strength of it's name (I love playing pool) and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a very enjoyable, well acted and well written film. (Great appearance from Christopher Walken too) It's not just a film for fans of the sport though, my girlfriend really enjoyed it too. I'd highly recommend this film to anyone.

    A Trick Shot!

I went into this film with no expectations-after all, how many films can be made around pool? I came out very, very chuffed because it was a slick, witty and feel good film all rolled into one. The actors bought a charm to the movie i had not seen in a while, and the finale, even though you know it's coming, is unusually tense and fullfilling.

As quiet as a church mouse

This movie provided a a real surprise. I rented it off the back of it centring around pool, Christopher Walken and Chazz Palminteri - who were great.

There are some great sequences, the plot flows well and is easy to relate to and connect with the characters. The dialogue in the film is good, and is delivered without being forced.

    A good popcorn flick.

    Rounders on a pool table.

If you have seen the Matt damon, Ed Norton movie Rounders and liked it. You'll like this one too. A guy on the wrong side of the tracks with a lawyer g/friend. Not a bad movie to watch on a sick day. Poker is more my game, but this is actually better

    FAB

LOVED IT! if you have a major obsession in Michael rosenbaum (like me) then you'd love this film, if not then you wont. The characters are a little 2D and the plot is very basic... the amount of swear words used is probably a record but all in all i liked it! ^_^

    Absolute rubbish

Bad acting, bad story, just absolute rubbish! I expected something along the lines of Stickmen but it was not even close. Avoid this drivel!
