WHAT GOES FOR SERIES 1 GOES FOR THIS, IT'S SHOWN REGULARLY ON T.V. BUT YOU CAN STILL ENJOY IT. SOME CRITICS HAVE STATED THAT THE FIRST FLOWERING (SERIES 1) WAS BY FAR THE BEST, HOWEVER I FOR ONE SEE ALL THREE SERIES AS A WHOLE, RATHER THAN DISPARATE 'STAND ALONE' SEASONS. GREAT ENSEMBLE PLAYING, WITH A BRILLIANT SCRIPT. THIRTY YEARS OLD!!! SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY
What a treat the entire second series of Ronnie Barker Excellent sitcom Porridge.
After seeing the first series I was hooked, so what a pleasure it was after watching the first two series to find in the special features on the second series DVD the original pilot episode for Porridge entitled Prisoner and Officer.
This was every bit as funny as the series and made it an absolute must for any fan's of the show. A truly Great simple DVD with a special feature which made it a must...
wow what a great gigglier i was laughing for 2 nites this is a great birtsih classic

What can I say, other than its an all time classic.
Porridge, Open all hours, Fools & Horses all go hand in hand.
you can not have a better comedy than the old english ones even if you have seen it before.
one of the best comedies ever made a classic now have to watch series 3.........cant wait for the xmas specials....
Classic Ronnie Barker, not to be missed
My number one all-time favourite tv sit-com - oh by the way did I say I liked it? I could watch these every day and never get bored. A comedy series set in a prison - it'll never work - ha. Also interesting that Ronnie Barker didn't actually want to do this as a series but was persuaded otherwise - what a brilliant move! Watch, laugh, enjoy - if you haven't seen it - where have you been for the last 30 years - watch it now
What can be said about Ronnie Barker that has'nt been said already?
Excellent Series continues, A Great shame they did'nt make more episodes per series really.
Rent these, You'll never tire of them!
still very funny 30 years on
