McKidd's children persuaded him to join Percy Jackson

Scottish actor Kevin Mckidd signed up for the big screen adaptation of the Percy Jackson children's books, after his son insisted he took the job. The Grey's Anatomy star plays Poseidon in upcoming movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, about a teenage boy who discovers he's descended from the Greek sea god. Dreyfuss and Sarandon set for thriller

Richard Dreyfuss and Susan Sarandon have agreed to appear in a new Tim Blake Nelson comedy-thriller. The pair will appear alongside Ed Norton in Leaves of Grass, it was announced at the Toronto Film Festival. Specific roles for Dreyfuss, whose credits include Poseidon and Unsung, and Sarandon, who has starred in movies such as Thelma and Louise, have not yet been announced. Brosnan and Thurman to play gods

Pierce Brosnan is teaming up with Uma Thurman to play a pair of Greek gods in a big-screen adaptation of the Percy Jackson children's books. The duo will star in Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief, an adaptation of Rick Riordan's first novel in his popular five-part series. The story is based on Greek mythology and centres around young Percy Jackson, who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea.
