Fun to watchBy HJE (5 reviews) from London , 20 Oct 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]Fun to watch and enjoyable light tone. A little cheesy at the end but cool 70's filming and design. Recommended.

70s flashback oh la laBy loudubou (18 reviews) , 16 Apr 2013Back to the seventies, gosh you do forget the changes with regards to women. Old fashioned quaint and gently dealing with real life issues in a way that you believe. Great acting by Depardieu and Deneuve. I see what people mean by corny, but it was the age and handled well.
Old gold.By a customer , 14 Apr 2013A pleasant and entertaining film, beautifully acted. Light plot with twists and a happy ending. Family viewing except for brief sex scenes
Good for entertainmentBy a customer , 08 Apr 2013A really sweet movie with all the cliches and character generalisations you could want. Good fun to watch when you don't want to think too hard.
classy comedyBy crimelover (21 reviews) , 07 Apr 2013Deneuve is beautiful in this comedy about the downtrodden wife and serial philanderer of a husband and their spoilt children. Depardieuis a charmer as ever great fun.
Cute, interesting and not exactly what I would have predicted...By ZKPW (45 reviews) , 05 Apr 2013This film is fun and there are some excellent moments - the many changes brought by the 70's are interestingly handled and it isn't as predictable as you might think - nor is the lead character! I particularly enjoyed the relationships between the wife/mistress and the wife/daughter, it's great (and refreshing) to see a film that tackles womens issues while recognising that not all women were/are part of the 'sisterhood' and striving for change. The two musical numbers were cheesy, ill conceived (and Depardieu and Deneuve look awkward and have no chemistry in the dance number!) and almost spoil an otherwise fun movie, but not enough to miss this. If you want a light, French take on 9-5 with a teeny bit more realism (but not much...), this is your film!
