    A preposterous script leaves a talented cast floundering in this botched gangster drama, which unsurprisingly went straight to video here. Elias Koteas plays a lawyer who improbably sells his soul to public enemy number one, the larger-than-life mobster Danny Aiello. It's hard to work up much enthusiasm about whether he will rediscover his conscience in time, while the finale itself beggars belief. It's a shame because both Koteas and Aiello deserve a lot better.

    This drama was very impressive. A predictable ending but interesting all the same.
