Powerful, powerful and oh, so grippingBy Benhuczek (145 reviews) from London , 03 Jan 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]I started watching this film with only half an eye and ear as to be honest, I had difficulty understanding the mix of Harlem accents. However, slowly this film draws you in and finally demands you give it all your attention even though you are feeling decidedly uncomfortable.
In old money, the closest I can offer you is the bleakness and brilliance of Cathy Come Home.
Bang this right onto your rental list.

Worth a Watch.By a customer , 26 Feb 2012Very well acted and heart rendering. Sad though that people have to cope with situations like this. Good she found the strength in the end.
Precious? Extremely!By Barnseytheclaret (191 reviews) from Sheffield , 23 Feb 2012Not one to everyone's taste, I am sure, and definitely a 'tough watch'. A set of top quality performances, to the extent that, at times, you forget that you are watching a film. Mariah Carey pops up almost unrecognisably, too. As I say, there are difficult moments in the film, and this is not one for you if you like 100% happy, Disney-esque, endings.
Short and Brief ReviewBy SackofSpuds (2 reviews) from Birmingham , 15 Feb 2012Fantastic film, really shot well, and the acting was amazing. Clarice's mother was superb in the film, despite not being someone you would like, she played the roll perfectly.
