    Mystery Man

Jarod, as a child he is stolen in the dead of night by a shadowy organisation and held against his will for 30 years in a place called the centre.

Jarod was taken because he is not an ordinary child, he has a rare ability to mimic anyone in any given situation.

A valuable tool that the centre staff use to their own advantage.

Jarod has been told he has been helping people with the simulations he does but one day the truth comes out. He has been used as a pawn and the simulations he has ran for many years have been used for dark purposes.

Appalled Jarod escapes the centre with two things on his mind, the first to right wrongs that the centre have done, secondly to find his parents, but only knowing your first name makes this a difficult task especially, with agents from the centre after you intent on bringing you back.

    Something For Everyone

Jarod was taken from his familay as a young boy and brought up in a place called The Centre. His role in life was that of a Pretender, 'A Genius who can be anyone he wants to be' as the opening reminds you.

Through season 1 follow Jarods escape from The Centre, his search for the truth about his life, his quest for justice, his childlike innocence and The Centres attempts at recapuring there prize posession (Jarod)

You wont be disappointed this show is for all ages and the points raised are as relevant today as when the series was first made.

GREAT VIEWING FOR ALL THE FAMILY

A friend from America orginally told me about Pretender, and I was sceptical that it could work.

However, I soon got completely engrossed in the storyline, the characters, and the 'rightness' of how the storylines progressed. Overall, I was hooked.

As the seasons go on, the series just gets better and better, and it shouldn't disappoint anyone who likes a little escapism.

However, I must give everyone who hasn't seen the series fair warning - the series was cancelled, and the final planned TV movie was never aired or made. The series finished in two TV specials, The Pretender 2001, and Island Of The Haunted. Despite the show's popularity, viewings wavered and the programme was halted.

In this respect it was pretty poor that the producers didn't give fans a halfway decent ending, and it's only this that disappoints, as the final film leaves you up in the air and feeling 'cheated' because there's no closure and no 'happy endings'.

If you can get past the poor series ending - definitely worth a watch.
