This film was really disappointing. I recommend you DON'T rent it. I wish I'd just turned it off last night and gone to sleep instead of watching it to the end. I am tired today and it wasn't even worth it!
Pride is a nice Feel Good Movie, made even better by the main star being Terrance Howard...Ladies if ur a fan, he has a lot of lovely flesh on show..lol. Aside form that extremely nice added bonus, the story is good with a strong moral code, not to let ppl hold u back no matter what u wanna do..(well along those kinda lines)
i Enjoyed it.
THIS FILM IS EXCELLENT GREAT STORY A MUST

Not my sort of film, but easy watching

This is one of those American feel-good films with plenty of flag-waving, proud to be American, moments. The film is unimaginative and follows a cliched formula: the main character has to put up with lots of oppression but rises above it all to win and become the best. Apparently, it is based on a true story - how closely it follows that true story, I really do not know; but a subject like this deserves better. Racism is a very serious issue - this superficial film is an insult to all those victims of racism in America. I got the feeling that the writer / director had a tick-list of things that needed to be included and went about including them in a conveyor-belt manner.
The storyline is a cliché but the story is true, which makes this 'overcoming unsurmountable odds' portrayal of the achievements of former olympic swimming hopeful Jim Ellis hit you with a major lump in the throat.
Tearjerking stuff which we all need from time to time to remind us never to give up on dreams and never to stop trying to improve oneself and one's situation.
very very good great story.
I absolutely LOVED this film. Beautiful heartwarming story. I love Bernie Mac, he is the man!!
myself and my 13 yr old enjoyed this as it shows 1 mans struggle to get a swimming team together when blacks were still not taken seriously and seen as a joke well the joke was on them this is extremely worth watching well written and produced there should be more like this
