Highly amusing...By AdrianWalsh (226 reviews) from Lancaster , 16 May 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep both play very good roles. Basically the plot... Uma is 37 years old and falls for a young man of 23, now that in itself is not that bigger deal, now couple that with Uma's shrink, she see's her shrink (Streep) regularly to discuss her previous breakup, and begins to talk to her shrink about her new found physical love, Streep soon realises that this young lover of hers is infact her son! Shock Horror!!! So there you do have a very good basis for a very funny comedy, and yes it is amusing, you won't be rolling around in hysterics but you may well get a few chuckles. Look out for the Fryingpan Bashing Granny.

The characters are believable and the story line is very good. Love Meryl Streep in this but i really like her work anyway
Not your typical ending which was a nice refreshing change
Loved itBy a customer , 03 Jun 2012Realistic, sweet, romantic, and not your typical ending. I would recommend this film for a chilled night in, by yourself, with the girls, or even your significant other.
boring ...By bason (10 reviews) from runcorn , 28 Apr 2012wasnt that good to be honset found it quite boring found it hard to sit though the first time i watched it couldnt do it again.
Oy vay! He should be so lucky...By Nitaray (222 reviews) from Farnham , 19 Apr 2012Just a chick flick but better then average, thanks mainly to Uma Thurman's enthusiasm and Meryl Streep as a Jewish psychotherapist.
For me, the film failed to hold together because of the mismatch of Uma and Bryan Greenberg, who plays Streeps 23 yr. old son, the guy that Uma supposedly falls instantly and insanely in love with.
Why? was my immediate reaction. Whatever she saw in him was not obvious to me.
It is however quite an amusing and entertaining movie and Streep plays the typical yet enlightened Jewish mother superbly.
