Not as good as it should have been...
By a customer from Warrington , 21 Apr 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
The first thing I spotted when I started playing was how dark the screen was. I fiddled with my PSP screen settings but I was at top btightness, this made the game play really difficult unless you played it in a dark blacked out room (and if you do I don't want to know). The second thing was the load up times, every time you die -and you will LOTS- the UMD disk starts whirring around and your left starring at a load up screen. The gameplay is continuosly interrupted with jerks in the sound and the graphics as the PSP tries to figure what the hell is going on and tries to catch up.
All in all this just became annoying, you couldn't see what was really going on, on the screen and it became more and more difficult due to the camera angles to figure out what your supposed to do in each section of the game.
Its not enjoyable which is a shame as I loved Prince of persia on the PS2.- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)Great, but a little frustrating
By a customer from Somerset, England , 24 Jan 2007First of all this is an excellent PS2 to PSP conversion title. It is an addictive game and takes a long time to complete. The fighting is good and feels fluid. However it is not the game for people with small amounts of patience and a faintheartedness towards repeating the same part again and again.- Was this review helpful to you?

Entertaining & Challenging
By Parakrama Jayatissa from Coventry , 01 Jan 2007Having played Sands of Time on Game Boy Advance (the first Game of the Prince of Persia Triology), I was eager to get my hands on this game. As an average gamer, I was able to master the basic controls within the first half hour. Since I have read about the game a lot before actually playing it, I found the game more interesting than someone without any knowledge about the storyline.
The game design is fantastic. Enviornments are massive and the complexity of the puzzles is just about right. Free form fighting enables the prince to engage in effective and beautiful combat techniques.
But the heavy metal soundtracks don't quite match with the storyline and problems I found with this PSP version is that the length of the load times and the noise of the UMD in operation. If you set the speaker volume low, the UMD's noise will overshadow the game's sound.
Another problem is that when you move from one large area to another, the PSP freezes the game in order to take time to load the next step of the game. This is uncomfortable as it is quite damaging if you are about to face an enemy, a barrier or a pit.
Overall, this game deserves to be played. With lots of things to do, you will love it if you are patient.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent Game
By adam sargeson from Doncaster , 27 Dec 2006This game is a stunningly good port of the pop series from the xbox platform plus a few extra levels.
All in all the game plays well on the psp with the only down sides being some really long load times, with initial boot up being around 2 mins and 5 seconds here and there when entering large areas, and the textures in some places not being tip top wich can be annoying if you are looking for that ledge to jump too.
Other then that, the gameplay is fast and compulsive with some entertaining logical puzzles and challenging fights. The graphics crisp and fast on the whole considering some of the large areas you have to navigate. One of the more important features is the control system which is actually quite intuitive and easy to use, even if you arnt really a big gamer the in game instructions quickly help you get up to speed.
All in all a very entertaining game that does justice to the pop series.- Was this review helpful to you?
