Prison Break - Season 2 - Part 1

Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is the victim of a political conspiracy that is determined to bring him down, and the only one who can save him is his brother, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller). A prison engineer, Michael gets himself arrested and locked up in the same prison where his brother sits on death row, intending to use his intimate knowledge of the Fox River State Penitentiary to help them both escape. The second series of PRISON BREAK begins hours after Michael, Lincoln, and a number of other inmates have made good their escape. The brothers search for money that Michael had buried prior to his incarceration and attempt to bring down the political conspiracy that framed Lincoln, all the while evading the authorities hot on their trail. Meanwhile, the other members of the prison break set about achieving their own aims.

    Action, Excitement & Suspense

If you liked season one of Prison Break then you will love season two (and I suppose vice-a-versa). It's more of the same fast-paced excitement, except now the focus has changed from escaping the prison to escaping the FBI.

All the escaped convicts from the end season one return as does Bellik who somehow manages to be even more messed up than in season one. Furthermore the addition of William Fichtner to the cast, playing Agent Mahone, was a masterstroke as he is a perfect fit for the disturbed FBI cop who leads the manhunt against the convicts.

I have to admit that at the end of season one I was worried that the show was going to go downhill through a lack of ideas - that perhaps it was just going to be FOX milking the final buck - but I was very wrong. The cliffhangers in each episode are perhaps better than even 24 or Lost. If there is one thing that American does well it is action, excitement and suspense in their top TV dramas. Prison Break is a prime example of this.

This is perfect for anyone who doesn't watch the series on Five or download it, however if you do rent it be prepared to find yourself watching 'just on more episode'...

    Great stuff!

As addictive as usual. We're always dismayed when we've played the last episode, and can't wait for the next disc to come through. Although the plot is dramatic and at times unbelievable (unless you go in for monumental coincidences!), the show manages to keep you gripped from episode to episode. Suspend your disbelief, grab a beer and some crisps and settle down with this...but be prepared to watch the whole disc right through, no matter what your intentions for an early night may be!
