A gloriously played and plotted joke at the Mafia's expense, with Jack Nicholson enjoying himself enormously as a bumbling, mumbling, cerebrally challenged hitman who falls for gorgeous hitwoman Kathleen Turner at a Mob wedding. The best scenes are between Nicholson and, at the time, real-life partner Anjelica Huston, who won a best supporting actress Oscar for her role as the vengeful jilted lover. Director John Huston's wonderful movie is aided by superb turns from the whole cast and Andrzej Bartkowiak's photography.
