Just ok nothing more

i suppose its unavoidable to compare this game to fifa since there are only two major football games on the market. i used to love pro evolution but in recent years it fell behind fifa mainly due to the computer AI. Your computer controlled teanmates would go out of position easily or be static and the goalkeepers were pathetic making it impossible to keep a clean sheet against any decent player. this year there has been some improvement but the goalkeeper still seem to be to easy to score against especially with close range shots. The biggest improvement however has been the graphics, in this department it beats fifa 10 hands down, it looks great, although the animation can look a little stiff sometimes but most games suffer from that.
However graphics is the only area it it wins, in terms of sound, and gameplay fifa is better not just a little bit better but a lot better. This isn't because fifa 10 is such a great game (fifa 10 feels a little fussy sometimes) but because pro evo is so poor. Everything in terms of menu presentation, game modes, commentery, features and gameplay feel second best. The lack of real world teams is also a big minus and hurts the game experience badly.
This game can be fun to play and i would recomend to give it a rent just to see if this game suits you. Butfor me, the 100 little gameplay niggles can began to annoy me until I decide the aggrevation is not worth the effort.- Was this review helpful to you?

By KevinD83 (2 reviews) from Dunfermline , 26 Jan 2010Has fallen behind Fifa by miles and in my opinon wont catch up any time soon. If its a footie game you want then Fifa is the much better option.- Was this review helpful to you?

pro evo 2010
By chommy (1 review) from england , 14 Jan 2010this year game was not as bad as last years game but there is still major improvements that could be made.
the master league was an improvement as was the become a legend mode, the addition of the europa league could be seen as a good thing or bad thing depending on what mode you are playing. for example who would play the europa league in exhibiton mode when you can play the champions league, but to have the europa league in the master league mode and become a legend mode is a good thing.
the gameplay has improved not as much as i had hoped but all the same it is an improvement.
one thing that ssems to be a bit weird is the fact that no matter what AI team you play the centre backs only start to close you down when you get within 5 yards of their penelty area, so someone like gerrard or kaka will score loads of goals for you from shooting from distance.
overall the game was an improvement but it could still get better.- Was this review helpful to you?
