    Rated - 2 stars

Joss Beaumont - James Bond, not subtle is it?

The high points of this boxed set highlight of the work of Jean-Paul Belmondo are the plotting, the car chase in the Trocadero and a novel police interrogation technique that would certainly have had me talking. Other than that it is a factory effort from the non-subsidised sector which sold well into the Soviet market place apparently.

All the appearance of having been filmed on a budget with a quick forray to foreign climes and a finale crammed into a chateau that the producer managed to rent for the weekend - this is not the contemplative auteur-driven norm, nor an 'alt-thriller' of the Olivier Marchal order.

Interest value on the basis of the launch of the Belmondo retrospective, a few giggles along the way at the inept stereotyping and lardy acting from the male leads and the uber-complicit females but overall not worth more than the two stars.
