The inexorable slide towards the Second War of the Angels is chronicled in this disappointing climax to the three-film series, which lacks both narrative ingenuity and visual élan. Returning as the Archangel Gabriel, Christopher Walken isn't given nearly enough to do, as the ambitious Vincent Spano seeks to destroy street preacher Dave Buzzotta (replacing Russell Wong as Danyael, the half-human, half-angel nephilim). It's the unsung Spano who seizes the attention with his quirky display of celestial malevolence.
The final instalment in the trilogy, of the war between men and Angels. Now that the Nephilim (not withstanding my spelling!) has become a young man, the Angel Pyriel unleashes his forces to end mankinds only chance of survival. A threat of genocide hangs over the human race. Gabriel, having learned to appreciate mortal life, has a vested interest in the outcome of the inevitable battle.
Although actors from the previous two films make an appearance here, they dont impact on the story. Their parts dont seem to lead anywhere, leaving you wondering why they were in it at all. The story itself feels rushed, and directionless. There is an underlying plot, but it fails to reach an acceptable climax, as the ending is also weak.
I find it difficult to recommend this film, even if you watched the previous two. However, if youre struggling to bulk your queue up, then perhaps stick it in there, otherwise wait for it to appear on T.V.
Plot was a bit far fetched as was the acting. Special effects were OK but nothing stunning.
