  • An infernal affair

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Starts off promisingly as a slick HK thriller-cum-Andy Lau vehicle, but soon gets bogged down in druggy social realism. Thanks, but we do them.

Just wondering whether anybody experienced the same problem. I have got 7 DVDs of this movie so far and all of them were damaged and unplayable. The last one was better but stopped out half way through. I am so disappointed!

  • Half great crime drama and half sappy moral dilemma

    Rated - 3.0 stars

It started with a lot of promise. This was half great crime drama and half sappy moral dilemma. They needed to concentrate more on the relationship between Andy Lau and Daniel Wu. It could have been a Hong Kong 'Donnie Brasco'

  • Gritty film, not likely to be appealing to the general mass

Gritty realistic sort of film, too close to the bone to feel comfortable watching. Slightly bizarre ending, it just shows that anyone can succumb under the right conditions. Every one needs and must have something to live for no matter how small.

I liked this film as social commentary and as entertainment. Louis Koo does a tremendous job of being creepy...and the message of dont do drugs and please dont sell them either is made quite clearly in true Hong Kong movie style!! look out for the hand through the letter box scene...
