After Jack Nicholson wrote the pro-LSD movie The Trip, he appeared in this other druggie epic, set in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district where deaf girl Susan Strasberg searches for her freaked-out brother, Bruce Dern, who think's he's Jesus Christ. As a relic of the flower power era, this takes some beating — and some watching, too — but Nicholson completists should get a buzz from seeing him as a rock musician and as the film's romantic lead. Also included are music from the Strawberry Alarm Clock, if that turns you on, and a 2001-style acid trip to nowhere.

This film really is like dropping acid - halfway through I gave up watching and became fascinated by the folds in my trousers instead.
