Norman Bates is back! He's alive and well, and living with his mother at Bates Motel. 'Psycho III' a psychological thriller, is the second sequel to Hitchcock's masterpiece of terror and suspense starring Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates. Tracy is an investigative reporter who arrives at Bates Motel hoping to interview Norman for a story about insanity pleas in murder trials. Despite the town's pro-Norman sympathies, she smells a story in the disappearance of Mrs Spool, a waitress who worked with Norman at the local diner...And as more people go missing, she begins to wonder whether it is mere coincidence or whether Norman really is up to his old tricks again!

TOP MOVIE !!!

Anthony Perkins is running the Bates Motel again and it becomes quite apparent that his thirst to kill is about to come back. A drifter (Jeff Fahey) and a suicidal former nun (Diana Scarwid) are the newest occupants. Soon a nosy journalist (Roberta Maxwell) starts hanging around as well and the suspense builds to a fevered pitch. Can Perkins keep his mother's skeleton in the closet one last time? 'Psycho III' is by-the-numbers all the way. Those who saw the second installment came back for this blood-bath while traditionalists who refused to view anything but the original turned away once again. Perkins' direction is suspect and the screenplay is mediocre at best. Ends up being a typical slasher flick with little creativity or innovation.

Probably the most disappointing of the sequels of the Hitchcok classic, that resufaced in the 80s. Although it is still far superior than alot of the formulated slasher flicks that are around today. The storyline continues from where Part two left off, with Norman Bates reverting back to type after his rehabilitation was short lived. This time round he's trying to help a drifter and a ex- nun, when they stumble upon the Bates Motel. Despite Norman's good intentions, we all know it's going to end in tears.

Disappointed!

The only thing that makes this is Anthony Perkins, otherwise it's just not very good at all! It's kind of like he's too good for the film - he's so brilliant and disturbing as Norman Bates that I was able to get through the film, but the other actors, the storyline and the general feel of the film really disappointed me!

I hope the rest of the 'Psycho' films are better...

Worth the effort

Really has run its course. Darker than previous but I wouldn't buy it.
