I really enjoyed the first series of Psychoville, but because I hadnt watched it for a while I had forgotten some of the storylines, nonetheless I did find this Halloween Special mildly amusing and more than a little bit eerie. I was pleased that one of the four tales featured mother and son Maureen and David Sowerbutts, they are as shudderingly compelling as Tubbs and Edward from The League of Gentleman. Im now looking forward to the final series, to see how it all pans out.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not actually a 'movie' - but very good!
By Saffstar (2 reviews) , 11 Jan 2012The reviewer ' Cheesekake' obviously didn't get this 'movie'! - for a start, it's not a movie - it's a TV special for Halloween, it's also very clever in that it bridges series 1 & 2: Series 1 of Psychoville was made as a single run - at the time it was unknown if there would ever be a second series - the story was self contained and appropriately concluded in the last episode. However it was a success and a second series was ordered, but how would they continue if the story had been closed off? This special is the answer - whilst being a Halloween special, it also re-opens some elements of the 1st series and sets up the premise for the 2nd series - really well in my opinion!
So, don't see this as a 'movie' - if you are fans of the TV series, it's a very well made special that fits between series 1 & 2!- Was this review helpful to you?
