When the dreaded International Mercenary Abrush (Danny Danzongpa) is trapped by the Army in a valley near the border, he retaliates by kidnapping a minister called Mishra (Govind Namdeo). Even as Abrush starts negotiations with Col. Hussain (Om Puri) for a safe passage, the officer sends in his crack team of para commandos lead by the highly decorated Major Jaidev Rajwansh (Anil Kapoor) to storm AbrushÕs hide-out and rescue the minister. Most of the commandos are ambushed and shot down. But yet Jai accompanied by just two surviving soldiers rescues Mishra and manages to capture Abrush.Because of his dare devil capture, Jai becomes a hero. Anjali (Madhuri Dixit) has been in love with Jai ever since their childhood. But Jai regards her as his best friend.In a party Jai falls in love with Pooja Mallappa (Namrata Shirodkar), daughter of General (Retd.) Mallappa. Jai blissfully tells Anjali that he loves Pooja and wants to marry her. Anjali is stunned and desperately tries to convince him of her love. But Jai rejects her. Hurt and humiliated Anjali is like a wounded tigress.This is the very opportunity that Abrushs followers have been waiting for. I think this is a good film. The songs are great as they are composed by A R Rahman and the storyline is not so bad.

Madhuri was good. She plays a negative role and Anil Kapoor was also OK. Was suprised to see the skimpy dress that Madhuri wore especially at this stage in her career. However, it was perhaps to show the villian in her.

Danny was excellent as usual however not as scary as he usually is as a villan.

There is also a special appearance by the great Lata.

This film is definately worth a watch if you are a fan of Anil or Madhuri or even if you like A R Rahman!

Enjoyable
