pure genius
By STEVE GRACE from bromley , 17 May 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Every now and then a British film which nobody has heard of comes along and sweeps you away.Pure is one such film. The story is a gloomy one.A young boy looks after his brother and drug addicted mother, whilst constantly fighting a loosing battle against his mothers supplier(an old family 'friend').If you stick with the film 'til the end you will be rewarded with feelings of happiness, sadness and victory all in equal meassures. The acting is superb on all counts. Also watch out for Knightley as a drugy/prostitute!Good picture quality and a few ads.- Was this review helpful to you?

(34)absolutely amazing and gripping
By a customer , 23 Jan 2013A very good film. Harry Edens acting is first class in this film and i have high hopes for him in the future. As you follow the journey through this boys life, you really feel so much sympathy for him and you can't help but keep your eyes glued to the television.- Was this review helpful to you?

Pure uncut drama.
By gingerspike (410 reviews) from Grimsby , 23 Aug 2012This rather harrowing and gritty UK film follows the life of a ten year old boy who has to deal with his mother's heroin addiction. The film is acted well, especially by the young actor. The film is quite emotional, and working with children of drug abusing parents (as I do), I can say the film certainly contained much realism.- Was this review helpful to you?

Pure British Drama
By JonathanR (40 reviews) from Peterborough, England , 13 Sep 2011It's strange how much British drama seems to be concerned with the down side of life and especially drug culture! Although Pure is nothing new in this respect it does offer some fine acting performances - especially Harry Eden as the 10 year old son of Mel the heroine addict. It's his child's view of his world that guides you through the movie and keeps you hooked.- Was this review helpful to you?

Good Film
By traceyald (101 reviews) from Cardiff , 28 Feb 2009This film covers very sensitive issues of drug use, and children that can become caught up in this. Very emotional.- Was this review helpful to you?
