  • This is the worst week in Frank's life - and very possibly the last. Deep in debt, he fixes up a complicated heroin... read more on Time Out

    Grim,bleak and heartless

'Trainspotting' for those who like their urban squalor undiluted. You won't find any cathartic laughs here, no light moments, no comfort zones, no redemption. It's betrayal all the way... a loveless, self obsessed, cruel yet passionless canvas of sheer human degradation. No heroes here as none of the characters have any greatness in them.

Why watch it? Because this gets into the grime of the disposed and unloved and weak... and we ordinary folk can identify with that. Powerful stuff.

Tense thriller with the threat of violence at all times but rarely visible.

Mean, moody, attractive main character carries the film on his own but the supporting cast are excellent too.

Set in the seedy underworld this shows the underbelly of Wonderful Copenhagen.

I loved this film and can't wait to see the follow up, "Bleeder".
