Excellent Puzzle Game

Just like the first game in the series, 'Challenge of the warlords' the puzzle part of this game is brilliant. You have to match 3,4 or 5 symbols of the same colour or type. This may not seem very original but where it differs from similar titles is that you are not just trying to get as big a score as possible. you actually need to think and form a strategy to collect the appropriate items to defeat your opponent(this is more challenging and enjoyable on hard mode).
The game also has a role playing element involving a fantasy world full of goblins and other creatures. This part of the game very much takes a back seat as it really only serves as a link between one puzzle and the next and you have little choice in the path you take.
Where you do have choice, however, is in the spells that you chose to use in the puzzle game(once you have played the game for a little while). This affects which items you try to collect and the deffensive or attacking style of your play. This can be very satisfying when you find the right combination of spells to defeat a tricky opponent.
This is an exellent puzzle game that builds on the addictive nature of games such as 'Zoo Keeper' to produce an equally addictive and involving experience and hours of gameplay.- Was this review helpful to you?
